Restorative yoga classes in December, Online in Zoom

Welcome to practise slow restorative yoga in December online.

As the weather gets colder and rainier as well as evenings darker earlier, it’s time to soften and slow down. I’m offering this course (or 4 individual classes) for you as an opportunity to restore and rebalance your body and mind during the darkest (and perhaps the busiest) months of the year.

These classes consist of four 75-minute restorative yoga classes held online through Zoom, so you can join these classes from the comfort and warmth of your home and not spend any time travelling to a yoga studio. You can purchase only one class or choose to do all four (recommended) classes to nourish your mental and physical body.

This practice is about opening and softening. This course and classes are for the calmer, more present mind, lowering the blood pressure, stress hormone release, better digestion, restful sleep as well as elevating & stabilising mood. The yoga forms are long and passive and they are focusing on the listening, sensing and softening of the body and mind. If you are stressed, over-worked or suffering from anxiety or a burn-out, this course or a class might come in handy for you.

This course or individual classes are for all body types, all ages and identities. The forms used are gentle and soft and can be adapted to all people at all levels of health and fitness. You may use your own yoga props like bolsters or blocks if you have them, but your normal homey pillows, planets and chairs will do just fine too! Big books also work as blocks, believe it! You do not need a yoga mat, since you can just practise on a mat on the floor or even on your bed.

Trauma-informed practises are used during these classes, which means all the queues are invitations and you are welcome to listen to the information from your own body to amend the practice for your needs. You may keep your video on or off, practise with your own music or just practise in silence.

  • December Thursdays 6.30-8.00 pm (Finnish time (UTC+2)) in Zoom, the class link will be provided through email before the course or class starts (Thursdays 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of December).
  • Breathing techniques for long holds in the forms
  • Trauma-Informed practises used during these classes
  • For restoring and rebalancing the body and the mind-body through the position of ease, opening and rest
  • Useful for restful sleep, anxiety, stress release, burnout, chronic fatigue, difficult or busy life-situations
  • For all ages, body types, identities
    • Useful for yoga teachers teaching restorative or yin, a few tips and tricks for prop usage & forms, also tips for trauma-informed practises

You may choose either to book and pay your all 4 classes as a course (at a lower price) or book a class per time on a drop-in basis. This is to make this more approachable for you depending on your schedule or life situation.
